Somebody I love defined leadership as follows: It’s making sure others feel respected, honored and loved. It is doing one’s best to make sure others don’t feel ashamed, ignored, belittled or rejected even though they made mistakes. It’s focusing on others’ needs while forgetting the misleading, miserable and selfish ‘‘I’’ even if just for a little while. It’s being humble, simple, open-minded and warm-hearted. Finally, it is talking less and listening more. And, because of all this, I love this ‘‘somebody’’, this gentleman, this extraordinary human being who saved my life by showing me the way and helping me become my best version.
